From starting out with branded phones cases to now producing solar panels that power schools, universities and villages across Africa, Nathaniel Peat is the Co-Founder of GeNNex Elite. A passionate advocate for gender equality, he ensures his business works closely with women within the communities and countries he operates in to help provide key STEM skills locally, creating a lasting legacy. But, GeNNex isn't his only venture, he is also the founder of Safety Box, a multi-award-winning initiative driven by a passion to help try and find a solution to knife crime and help young people find a route away from gangs.

The content

What does it take to set up two successful ventures? How did he manage to get Usain Bolt to pose with his product and what caught the eye of Sir Richard Branson?

In this episode for the GBU podcast, Alex speaks to Nathaniel who shares some of the lessons he has learnt on his journey so far, why finding the right team is vital, why diversity is key and why you should always chance your luck, you never know who you will bump into!

What’s it all about

The GBU podcast is a regular informal chat with a founder/ co-founder, finding out about their startup journey. Each episode is an honest and open conversation to unlock the good, the bad and the ugly (GBU... get it!!) in starting and growing a business. In the startup world, we all have good days, and we all have bad days, on those bad days, it can feel like the world has fallen out from under our feet.

The GBU podcast is here to celebrate successes and to champion failings. What didn't go according to plan in your journey, and what did you learn from it? Please share it with the GBU community here or with fellow startups in the comments below.
